Emerald Lakes is from a series of images consisting of digitally modified versions of abstract paintings on canvas that were textured with mixed media on cardboard constructions much like the reliefs of collograph printing plates. This series is inspired by aerial landscapes and nature.

Maria Huntley is an artist who employs a wide range of expression. Maria was born in Germany and came to the United States as a child. Having lived many summers of her youth in Europe gave her an understanding of different cultural perspectives and informs the universal themes of her art. The textures, color and aesthetic of time worn places she has experienced as a world traveler is seen in the layers, structure and textures of her work.
